Training, Schlacht (internationale Regeln und Huscarl), Einzelkampf, ... Wichtige neuerung aus der Einladung: Festival and market life ; Warriors
Since November a group of warriors and Museums representatives have been meeting and working with the topic of the life of the Warrior .The plan for the future is to research, recreate and present a wide range of aspects of warrior life. In doing so , we hope to improve the festival both for the participants and public alike. In order to present this to the public we decided to expand upon the previous many years presentations .Therefore in 2012 the public will be presented with 3 different styles of reenactment combat. The 3 styles are as follows: Eastern style: Full Contact including strikes to the head. Contact person for this group is Mike Regula. / Væringjar Western style: Semi contact NO strikes to the head. Contact person for the group is Ulrik Sommer og Søren Jæger /Ulfhednir HEMA: Full body target area, but with the use of fencing masks and modern protection .Includes strikes to head and stabs to the face. Contact person for the groups is Søren Ravn Stadsholt./ Loki’s Frimænd If you sign up for one or more of these styles you will be contacted by the respective contact person and provided with all the practical information, rules, equipment requirements etc. as well as information about the events in each style. In using the 3 styles we aim to give the public a better idea of the many aspects of Viking age warfare ”Battle of Trelleborg”
The Big battle will be the same as in previous years, and will remain a westernstyle battle. The Battle will be fought 1 time per day on Saturday the 21st.of July and 1 time Sunday the22nd July. Otherwise there will be fighting in each of the 3 styles daily for the entire week. TournamentsDuring the entire week there will be different tournaments for both Warriors and crafts men. For example, Archery tournaments ,Fighting tournaments, Blacksmithing Tournaments , and Tablet weaving tournaments. There are of course prizes for the respective tournaments . Unfortunately there is limited space for participants of some of these . therefore, it’s important that you sign up as soon as possible. First come , first serve. More precise information regarding these tournaments will come out prior to the festival. Warriors will be contacted by the representatives from each style.
